We all know one of the most famous work quotes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." A proverb, it dates to the mid 1600s. Some writers have added to the quote, such as novelist Maria Edgeworth who added a second line, "All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy." We're not sure who Jack is, but a lot of people want to judge him and his work ethic, that's for sure. Work quotes can inspire us to show up to work each day, to quit the job we hate with a passion, to start our own business or to simply leave the working life all together, preferring to be a gypsy or a vagabond, which in truth, can be a lot more work.
