So said President Eisenhower in one of the most well known United Nations quotes of our times. Few would argue that the UN is a hot button politically; its worth tested and questioned time and time again since it was founded in 1945. Still, the UN soldiers on and United Nations quotes lead us to understand its ongoing role as the world's peacekeepers and international police force.

"The UN is not just a product of do-gooders. It is harshly real. The day will come when men will see the U.N. and what it means clearly. Everything will be all right -- you know when? When people, just people, stop thinking of the United Nations as a weird Picasso abstraction, and see it as a drawing they made themselves."
