Sitting Bull was a Lakota Chief who led his tribe during the time of U.S. expansionism. He fought the relocation of Lakota tribes to reservations in the west. A fearless warrior, he united the Lakota nation. In the famous battle of Little Big Horn, Sitting Bull bested General Armstrong's forces in what became known as Custer's Last Stand. He fled to Canada but surrendered in 1881. He joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show after being released from his two year prison sentence. He left the show after a few months, preferring to live on a South Dakota reservation instead among his people. …
