DEMDACO is pleased to present Heart of Gold, a very special new Willow Tree figurine. Heart of Gold was inspired by a young cancer patient at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Artist Susan Lordi wanted to honor his courageous spirit and kindness. "I hope that this piece expresses the pure and honest affection between a child and those who love and care for him," said Susan. DEMDACO and Susan Lordi are donating, $1.25 for every Heart of Gold purchased during 2005 to Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in support of it's mission to offer hope and healing through compassionate care and pioneering medical research. Heart of Gold is packaged in the traditional Willow Tree box, but the text on the side of the box is a quote from Susan about her inspiration, and information about Children's Mercy.
