We all have that friend, or the family member who is always telling us that they will help us when we move, or they will help us when we have to pick up our refrigerator, or they will be there for us when we need someone to watch our pets while we are out of town. We know deep down that they are just really not going to be there for us, because their past promises were never fulfilled. We want to believe that they are going to help us when they give us a promise, but there comes a time when we have to just understand that there are people who make promises and do not keep them. Then again, there are other people who realize that when they make a promise that is only the first step, the main point is to commit to your promise.

This is something that we can really take to heart as individuals, as family members and as friends. It can become too easy to give our loved ones empty promises. The truth is that we all have busy lives, we work, we take care of our families we have commitments. Yes, we are busy, but you do not want to wake up one day only to come to the realization that you are one of those people who your loved one's cannot depend on to keep promises.

When you commit to your promises, it will help you with every aspect of your life. Not only will all of your relationships be more fulfilling, more honest and joyful, but you will have a more positive attitude in your work life, in your recreation and your ability to have a good night of rest. When we know for a fact that we are doing everything that we can be to be a winner. Not the kind of person who is a competitor and likes to win at everything, but in the way that when we make a commitment, no matter what it is, that we stick to it. We feel fulfilled and completely satisfied when we know that we have everything under control in our lives.

On the other hand, there might be times when we allow our busy lives get in the way of us actually committing to our promises. It can be so easy, you can't make the family dinner that has been planned for months, because you didn't get your work done and you have to go into over time. You have to miss your daughter or your nieces first performance as a little ballerina, or you keep missing dinner with your family every night. These instances might sneak up on you, but you are the one who is responsible for your own actions. Just remember that you are the only one who can commit yourself to making your life and the lives of your loved ones a happy and dependable environment. Do not let a busy schedule stop you from sticking to your commitments and proving your love to your family and friends.
