We've all had those days – days where you think the world is working against you. It could start with a messed up coffee order, or worse, a cup of coffee in your lap. Maybe you missed your train or you ended up hitting every red light on the way to the office. Once you got there new work was on your desk, or even worse, work you thought was done has returned because it's not quite what your boss wanted and they want you to do it over again.

How do you get through these days? While people say you just have to pick your self up, dust yourself off and get back to it, it can be hard. Sometimes you just feel like there is no positive in your world, it's all negative and bringing you down.

If you have enough of these kinds of moments or days, you may start to give up on a lot of the goals and successes you hope to have in life. You may think if you can't deal with simple things that are always going against you, you should just give up on the big things. But, you don’t want to give up on those dreams. This is when you may need to have a couple of motivational quotes in your back pocket to use to help you through it.

What good are a few words, you ask? Well words can be quite a powerful force. Think about how you feel when someone writes something really nice and heartfelt to you. You feel warm and fuzzy and smile. Likewise, when someone writes something nasty to you or hurtful, you may feel a pang of pain in your chest. Well, that is the power of words! But you don’t have to wait for someone else to write words to you. You can choose to give yourself the boost you need with the right words when you are having one of those bad days.

Try a couple of these motivational quotes:

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." - Harriet Tubman

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt

"The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up." - Paul Valery

Just reading them may already be having an impact on you. One of those may have you thinking, "Yeah, I can do everything. I don't need to be down about these little things that don't matter in the grand scheme of things. I have dreams and I am still going to reach them."

If you are starting to think that way then you realize just how powerful words can be to help you recover from a down time. Well, then what are you waiting for? Start getting those words to work for you.  Just like anything else in life the things you surround yourself with influence you. So, it's time to surround yourself with positive things and words can be among them.

From motivational posters to artwork and just generally reading a lot of inspirational and motivational quotes the more positive influences you put around you, the better! Then when those negative things happen, which they will as that's just the way life works, you are armed to counter that negative with a positive quote. The more of that positive you have in your arsenal, the less of the negative will be able to get past your defenses.
