Have you ever looked in the mirror and not been sure you totally like who you see? We're not talking about having low self-esteem and a lack of self worth. No, quite the opposite. Maybe you are realizing that you may have a few character flaws.
Maybe you are a little less kind and understanding to the people around you than perhaps you should be. Perhaps you are always the one talking and never have the time to listen to a friend when they need you. Maybe you're always the one relying on others to bail you out of tough situations, but aren't there when you should be. At work, perhaps you are always taking the lazy way out and making your co-workers pick up more than their fair share. No matter what your character flaw, you may need to enlist the help of a few motivational quotes to help you improve your character.
Why do you need motivational quotes? Well there are a couple of reasons. While you may know you want to do something to change your character for the better, you may not keep it at the top of your mind all the time. You have a lot of other things in your head! How are you expected to keep remembering that you want to work on your character too, which is essentially changing old behavioral habits? This is where motivational quotes can come in.
Making sure you have motivational quotes around you that are geared towards the character improvement that you want to do will help you have fewer slip ups along the way. You see, while it's easy to forget hard things like to always be working on your character and bettering yourself, if you are always confronted by one of those motivational quotes the bettering of yourself will be top of mind. That means you will be more likely to keep with your program of character improvement.
So, what type of quotes are we talking about? Well there are plenty of motivational quotes out there that can aid you in bettering your character, but here are a few of them.
"Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us." - Thomas Paine
"Nothing of character is really permanent but virtue and personal worth." - Daniel Webster
"Nature magically suits a man to his fortunes, by making them the fruit of his character." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Character and personal force are the only investments that are worth anything." - Walt Whitman
Does one of those strike you as hitting home? If so, you are officially half way home as you now have the quote you can use. If not, you may have to do a little research to find one.
So, once you have a quote what do you do with it? Well again, there are a few options. The goal is to keep it nearby so you can read it regularly and remember your goal of bettering your character. One way to do this is to keep it on your desk in your office or in your wallet or purse. Maybe you can have a bracelet or keychain made that has that quote on it so you can regularly see it and reinforce your mission to bettering yourself.
Changing your character is just like changing any other habit. It's about getting into the repetition of doing things right, and creating a new habit that you can make the change that will last a lifetime and keeping motivational quotes on hand that remind you to do that are a great way to go.
